As an employee you are recruited onto an initial trial period where you are assessed and graded according to competence for the recruited role.
Staff Opportunities
Staff are encouraged to identify and request training to enhance the service. We ensure that there is a full career path from the site through to high level management for those interested in engaging on a long term programme.
Staff Monitoring
All staff and their work is routinely monitored and assessed against agreed quality standards. Where an issue is identified,support and advice is offered to the relevant staff member to allow them to correct the work and to avoid further issues.
Staff Empowerment
We belief that responsibility can be delegated, but accountability cannot! All management and supervisory staff have the autonomy to make service level decisions and they are rewarded according to the level of service and satisfaction provided to the client.
This is the practical result of our systems based thinking on customer satisfaction - if it is wrong, we sort it out!
Staff Vetting
Many of our staff are CRB checked as this is required by many of our clients. In addition, Simmons Services staff are vetted at recruitment and undertake a rigorous induction to ensure that they are fully prepared to face our clients.
Our commitment to Investors In People accreditation during 2011 ensures that training requirements are identified and resources are made available to deliver the training whether in house or through external providers.
Existing Staff
We recently attained Investors In People accreditation and interviews about staff satisfaction were undertaken with members of staff throughout the business. The assessor from IIP stated "Staff did feel valued for their contribution through things like:
- get a well done and a thank you
- team events
- end of job feedback with client
- discounted materials - golf days.
Comments received from staff were-
“I do feel valued. They listen to your opinions”
“If they did not treat me right I would not be here”
“We know what we are doing and they let us get on with it”
“I do feel valued – part of the team/company”.
