Simmons Services Attend Award Ceremony for Wales and West Housing

Sarah Manners, Public Relations and Marketing Manager of Wales and West Housing was hosting the event and had the following to say afterwards;

It was good to see Simmons Services at our recent Making a Difference award ceremony and we would like to thank them once again for sponsoring the Inspirational Award category. This year we had backing from a record 14 contractors enabling us to hold this very special ceremony.  We would simply not be able to do this without the help of sponsors like Simmons Services. Each year it proves to be a huge success with everyone and we hope they will consider taking part again next year.
Wales & West Housing are very honoured to hold these awards and to recognise the hard work of those who are nominated and present them with an award and certificate in front of their family & friends.
The awards are their way of honouring the community spirit, enterprise, kindness and commitment shown by so many of their residents, young and old alike, who live in their properties.

I would like to thank Simmons Services again for helping us hold a very inspiring and moving ceremony and we hope to work again with them in the future.

Simmons Services in the Community

Simmons Services Lancashire Office answered an urgent requirement for assistance from the UCAN Centre in Farnworth, the centre is part of the stock owned by their Framework Partner, St Vincents Housing Association.

Julia Glover Community Projects Manager at the centre approached Simmons asking for their help in sprucing up the external elevations of the building in readiness for their open day on the 30th May.

The UCAN centre provides a community resource in Farnworth and is helped by a team of volunteers, that delivers a wide range of services from IT courses, job clubs, counselling and coffee mornings for carers.

Julia Glover commented:
The open day is themed around wellbeing and we expect a large turn out on the day, the external of the building was looking rather tired and I thought it would look more welcoming if it was decorated, I had been in contact with Simmons on another initiative, which is to offer Painting Apprenticeships to people in the local community and asked if they could help with our external, I was delighted when I heard they could help out.
I would like to express my thanks to everyone at Simmons, especially Paul Simmons and Gary Roberts who started the ball rolling and a huge thanks to Terry and John who carried out the work, they have done a brilliant job and the centre looks fresh and more welcoming for our big day.

Gary Roberts Branch Manager commented:
All labour and materials were provided from our Working in the Communities Initiative Fund, in making an invaluable contribution to the local community.
I was really pleased to be able to help out, and I would like to wish Julia and all concerned with the day to day running of the centre, every success on their big day.
